'OLD SOUL, NEW SPIRIT'

video: visual & narrative design (2022)
The Challenge: To reflect on how a city’s rhythms can shape identity and to translate that experience into a visual language that feels both intimate and expansive.
The Solution: Shot on Super 8, the film pairs nostalgic visuals with intimate narration. Vibrant colour transitions guide the eye. Pacing of the narration kept the emotional arc engaging. The script was translated into French and voiced by a male narrator to create deliberate distance from my personal perspective. This abstraction invites broader interpretation, allowing viewers to connect through their own lens.
The Outcome: The result is a visually rich, timeless short film that moves beyond personal narrative to reflect on identity,  change and belonging. Through both its making and release, the project deepened emotional connection within my community.
